We're Out of Touch! What Can We Do?

The Journal of the American Medical Association reported that in the entire English speaking world only 12 medical schools teach students anything about the art of touch. Yet doctors and nurses all touch their patients regularly. It represents caring. Caring helps heal. Touching also transmits healing energy from therapist to patient.

I know of no educational institution that teaches school teachers the art of touch. Yet to students it can mean understanding, encouragement, appreciation.

These and other professionals are specifically told not to touch. It can lead to malpractice charges and other complications. So we're out of touch with touch, a basic human act and a basic human need.

One way to get back in touch with touch is to experiment with the psychic activity known as psychometry. The word means soul measuring. You can experiment in the following manner.

Ask a friend to give you a small personal item that you can conveniently hold in one hand. A key, ring, pen, watch, or any other item which that person has owned for some time will do. Remain relaxed and quiet a few moments. Center your awareness upon the object. At the same time carefully note any impressions that may enter your mind pertaining to the item or its owner. Check the impressions with the owner to determine their validity. What you are doing is attempting to interpret (or measure) the vibrational essence of the item and its relationship to the owner and his or her life. Continued experiments will improve your sensitivity.

This exercise may also enable you to determine with greater skill and accuracy the exact location of energy blockages in the body of another person. Slowly pass your hands over the body, without actually touching it, and note the impressions that enter your consciousness in the same way they did when you experimented with psychometry.

Remember, do not diagnose or prescribe. But do check your impressions with the person you are attempting to heal.
