An Aid to Reducing
For a reducing diet I can heartily recommend a teaspoon or tablespoon of flaxseed, either whole or ground, taken with a large glass of water half an hour before meals. The gelatinous mass which expands in the stomach is more than adequate to discourage the intake of large meals. And it's a perfect food in itself. No dangerous chemicals added. It not only is an excellent means of reducing, but performs all sorts of other good actions----it breaks up encrusted wastes along intestinal walls, it establishes regular bowel movements, it absorbs toxins in the bloodstream and flashes them out.
The natural oil in the flaxseed absorbs the "bad" oil in the diet and carries it out of the system --- and it breaks up oil and cholesterol deposits in the the arteries which lead to heart attacks. If heavy dosage proves too much for your system, either cut down the intake or take it only once a day before your largest meal.
Another plant fiber excellent for slimming is guar gum available at your health store. If a teaspoon of guar gum is taken daily with a glass of water half an hour before a meal, it expands
in the the stomach and creates a clear fiber gel that makes one feel full. The fiber is not absorbed into the bloodstream but is eliminated through the digestive process. Its gel also prevents the absorption of fats through the intestines.
