Seven Guidelines to Keeping Young Part 1

The Ayurveda Approach

Out of India comes the Ayurveda (knowledge of life) approach to natural healing and rejuvenation techniques, said to be the oldest system of natural health care in the world. The Ayurveda system includes dietary guidance, herbal supplements, massage and meditation to aid in healing. Its advocates contend that disease is caused by improper diet, pollutants, stress and the interruption of our natural cosmic body rhythms caused by unwise life-styles. The massage includes a body rub using warm sesame oil.

I feel sure Ayurveda is one of the oldest methodologies for healing, just now reappearing on the health scene. But we cannot discount our own "holistic" (or wholistic) approach, which is to treat the whole person, not simply to focus on a titled illness. I think our modern holistic movement may have surfaced simultaneously with the ancient Ayurveda system in our modern world. Ayurveda is superior when a medical doctor, with his knowledge of the latest medical approach, will include the entire natural Ayurvedic approach under one roof---whereas in our holistic system, we poor patients have to run hither and yon to find a holistic doctor, a knowledgeable herbalist, a good dietitian, a fabulous masseur or masseuse, healing through colored lights and music, a homeopathic chiropractor or osteopath, a reflexologist, or an acupuncturist, in various locations. God bless the day American clinics will embrace the entire holistic concept in one location, with access to all methodologies for the new age seeker of natural healing, including, too, the concept of Ayurveda.

The Ayurvedic approach is superior to our Western holistic approach, too, in that it concerns itself with the five elements of ether, fire, air, water, earth; the three bodily humors (tridosha); the seven body tissues (dhatus); the three elimination issues: urine, stool and perspiration (malas); and the trinity of humankind --- the body, mind, and spirit. Our Western consciousness has not totally embraced the idea of energy manifesting in the five basic elements --- that is, the concept of air, fire, water, earth, and ether as they relate to our five senses. Ayurveda teaches that ether relates to hearing, air to touch, fire to vision, water to taste, and earth to smell.

And Ayurveda involves the individual in his/her own healing and well-being, eventually evolving toward and into cosmic consciousness. To learn more of this unique approach to youth and well-being, seek literature concerning Ayurveda at your metaphysical book store.

"Will You Please Refrain from Smoking ---I'm Allergic"

People who don't smoke are quite justified in asking others not to smoke in their vicinity. Cigarette smoke in a closed room concentrates nicotine and dust particles so dense the nonsmoker inhales as much as a smoker inhales from four or five cigarettes. Smoke from an idling cigarette contains almost twice the tar and nicotine of smoke inhaled by the smoker --- because the cigarette smoked by the smoker is filtered. Thus the nonsmoker who is constantly exposed to smoke from either idling or "active" cigarettes runs far more risk of injury than the smoker! In a poorly ventilated smoke-filled room, concentrations of carbon monoxide can easily reach several hundred parts per million ---- a definite toxic hazard for both smoker and nonsmoker. Many who suffer from emphysema may be the victims smoker's smoke.

Youth and Factor Q-10

What is Factor Q-10? It's an enzyme, and it's essential for life. It's a chemical produced by your own body. When your immune system fails to produce sufficient quantities, disease occurs. It gives life to every cell.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

The Chamber, which supplies pure oxygen to the occupant's bloodstream, is now being hailed as the closest thing on earth to the fountain of youth. It not only helps to speed healing of various afflictions such as severe burns and infections, but it also rejuvenates the body, restoring youth and vitality as well.

Germanium and Youth

Germanium is another blockbuster! Or age-buster! The wonders of germanium read like the heal-all tonic of the traveling medicine man of not so long ago --- a tonic guaranteed to heal anything from ingrown toenails to bald heads. Well, just read all the benefits of germanium:

It utilizes oxygen, flooding the body with this life-saving substance without which the tissues and cells die --- and the body. This vitalized oxygen feeds starved tissues, cells, and organs.

It then fights candida, cancer cells, free radicals, chronic arthritis, restores sexual powers, prevents miscarriages, heals burns without scarring, cures radiation aftereffects. It aids in circulatory disorders like heart attack or stroke and stimulates the immune system.

Combined with Suma, a Brazilian herb, it is even more powerful in rebuilding a depleted immune system. Garlic and ginseng and aloe vera all have germanium.

Youth and Ginseng

Long known in the orient as a source of prolonging life and as a stimulant of sexual energies, we Westerners have joined in its praise. Wild Siberian ginseng also increases stamina, relieves stress, helps prevent respiratory diseases, and aids in high blood pressure and heart problems. It clearly has an effect on brain cells, restoring memory and improving concentration. The herb is filled with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.

Gerovital (GH3)

There is absolutely no question that its ingredients contribute to youth. Its use in the restoration of hair is renowned. So is its effectiveness in relieving pain and illness --- and wellness always manifests youth.
